Plantation Homes Covers Closing Costs and Electric Bills in Meridiana

June 3, 2019

Plantation Homes will pick up the tab on closing costs and 2 years of electric bills when buyers choose one of the builder’s new homes in the master-planned community of Meridiana.

During the Get Moving Sales Event, June 3 – June 30 , buyers who use Plantation’s approved lenders will pay no closing costs when they purchase a home in the Allegro Trails neighborhood of the award-winning community.

“Buyers typically focus on saving for the down payment but may not realize they are expected to pay a variety of fees when they close,” said Paul Blackburn, region president for McGuyer Homebuilders, Inc., (MHI), parent company of Plantation Homes. “Those fees can average 2 to 5 percent of the purchase price and they must be paid when the final paperwork is signed. Our promotion saves on out-of-pocket expenses, helping buyers to easily move into a beautiful home.”

The promotion only applies to the Allegro Trails section within Meridiana where Plantation offers 11 floor plans priced from the $229,990s to the $283,990s. The one-and two-story designs feature island kitchens, spacious family rooms and two-car garages. Homes range from 1,525 to 2,625 square feet.

For a limited time, the builder will also prepay two years’ worth of electricity bills for people buying a new home from May 10 through June 30. The Beat the Heat sales event is valid for all of the builders’ Houston-area communities.

“We’ve been building energy-efficient homes for decades,” said Paul Blackburn, region president for McGuyer Homebuilders, Inc. (MHI), parent company of Coventry Homes and Plantation Homes. “We know that triple-digit temperatures don’t need to correspond with high energy bills. This promotion is an introduction to the idea that your new home can actually save you money.”

Meridiana is located near the interchange of Highway 288 and Highway 6, offering convenient access to the Texas Medical Center, Lake Jackson employment center and the planned 288 Tollway. Meridiana was named Master-planned Community of the Year by the Texas Association of Builders in 2017.

Amenities include the Oasis Village recreation complex with a family pool and cabanas, lap pool, splash pad with slides, fitness center and amphitheater for outdoor concerts. The community also is home to the on-site Meridiana Elementary School. A new on-site Alvin ISD junior high is slated to open in 2021.
